Variety Performance (Comedy)

Variety Performances:

Comedy:

We were given an example of a variety performance theme in class that was comedy, we were told we had to create a comedic performance and present it to the classroom afterwards. We agreed in my community to go for a sexual comedy about a teenage girl and parents, and the story baseline was that the girl wanted some guidance about how to impress a boy named Michael, which led the parents to talk about how they did intimate things back in the days.

For instance , the way we demonstrated a comedic way was to say phrases:

"Yesterday in your room I had some rough noises"-Teenager

"I thought my room was struck by an earthquake" — Teenager

"I told you to be quiet" —Dad

"Your father in bed is a demon" —Mother

- Good characteristics 

-The group bounced of well and there was a great sense of teamwork

-Body language ( Mother was sitting with a high straight posture whilst crossing the legs and the Father was slouched whilst the teenager was hyper and body movement was everywhere)

-Tone of voice and pitch ( Father's voice went deeper since the actor was a female and the teenager voice went a tiny bit higher)

EBI:

-More use of space

-Positions of the chair so the audience is able to see the facial expressions from the parents

- More exaggerated facial expressions
